Description

The Serpens Nebula is an active star-forming region where Webb’s NIRCam penetrates obscuring dust to reveal young stars, glowing gas, and narrow jets of material.

A group of nearly parallel outflows records how newborn stars inherited a common direction of rotation from the collapsing molecular cloud. Warm orange and red structures trace shocks where those jets strike surrounding material.

Produced from NASA’s official 12,682 × 8,036 master, every offered paper, framed-and-matted, and stretched-canvas size remains above 300 PPI with a restrained 3:2 crop.
