Description
NGC 2014 and NGC 2020 form the scene nicknamed the Cosmic Reef, a vast star-forming region in the Large Magellanic Cloud about 163,000 light-years away.
The reddish NGC 2014 glows around clusters of massive young stars, while blue NGC 2020 was sculpted by winds from a single exceptionally energetic star. Their contrasting colors and textures create a dramatic portrait of stellar birth and feedback.
Produced from ESA/Hubble’s official 17,043 × 11,710 master, every offered paper, framed-and-matted, and stretched-canvas size remains above 300 PPI with a restrained 3:2 crop.
