Description

Mercury From Mariner 10 recalls the spacecraft’s pioneering flybys of the innermost planet in 1974 and 1975. The mosaic combines multiple frames into a portrait of Mercury’s battered, Moon-like terrain.

Mariner 10 was the first spacecraft to visit Mercury and the first to use a gravity-assist maneuver to reach another planet, making the image both a planetary study and a milestone of exploration.

Produced from NASA’s official 2,209 × 3,303 master, this artwork is offered only as 5 × 7 and 7 × 10 fine art paper prints so both choices remain above 300 PPI.
