Description

Shadows at the Edge of Lunar Day follows the boundary between sunlight and darkness on the Moon during the Artemis II flyby. Along this terminator, low-angle light stretches shadows across the landscape and reveals topography that is far less apparent under full illumination.

Jule, Birkhoff, and Stebbins craters emerge among surrounding far-side highlands, their rims and basin structures sharpened by grazing sunlight. The resulting contrast gives the scene a sculptural quality while preserving a scientifically revealing view of the lunar surface.
