Keeper of the Night Sky captures the Moon as seen by the Artemis II crew during their historic lunar flyby. More than half of the lunar disk fills the frame, combining familiar near-side features with the sweeping terrain surrounding the Moon’s western limb.
Orientale basin appears wrapped in concentric mountain rings, while Grimaldi forms a dark circular mark nearby. Higher in the frame, the bright Aristarchus crater stands out against an ancient lava plain, giving the photograph unusual depth and geographic detail.
Produced from NASA’s official 5,568 × 3,712 original, the paper and framed presentations preserve the native 3:2 composition. The 16 × 12-inch stretched canvas uses a restrained centered crop, and every available option remains above Space Art Studio’s 300-PPI quality standard.
