Description

WR 124 is a rare Wolf-Rayet star caught during a brief, turbulent stage before a possible supernova. Webb’s combined NIRCam and MIRI observations show the star surrounded by an expanding nebula of gas and dust.

Bright knots and clumps record material ejected from the star, while infrared light reveals cooler cosmic dust within the shell. The centered composition captures both the brilliant stellar core and the textured structure of its surrounding nebula.

Produced from NASA’s official 4,416 × 4,349 print master, every available square paper and framed-and-matted size remains above 300 PPI. No stretched-canvas option is included because the approved canvas size would fall below the standard.
