Description
Stephan’s Quintet brings five galaxies into a single dramatic field, although only four are physically interacting. Webb’s combined NIRCam and MIRI data reveal stellar populations, shock waves, tidal tails, and dust stirred by repeated galactic encounters.
The uppermost galaxy hosts an active galactic nucleus powered by a supermassive black hole. Across the group, streams of stars and gas record the gravitational forces reshaping the system.
Produced from NASA’s official 12,654 × 12,132 print master, every offered paper, framed-and-matted, and 16-inch stretched-canvas size remains above 300 PPI with a restrained centered square crop.
