Description
MACS J0417.5−1154 is a massive galaxy cluster whose gravity bends and magnifies the light of more distant objects. Webb’s wide-field NIRCam view fills the frame with cluster members, foreground stars, and elongated lensed galaxies.
The image demonstrates how galaxy clusters become natural telescopes, enabling astronomers to study objects that would otherwise be too faint and distant to resolve.
Produced from NASA’s official 4,623 × 4,623 master, every offered square paper and framed-and-matted size remains above 300 PPI. No stretched-canvas option is included at this resolution.
