Description
The Ring Nebula, cataloged as Messier 57, is a planetary nebula created when a Sun-like star expelled its outer layers near the end of its life. Webb’s NIRCam shows the bright main ring, its textured clumps, and the hot central region in remarkable detail.
Fine radial features extend beyond the ring while dense knots of molecular gas trace the expanding shell. The nearly symmetrical composition turns a complex stage of stellar evolution into a striking celestial portrait.
Produced from the official 4,097 × 4,156 master, every available square paper and framed-and-matted size remains above 300 PPI. No stretched-canvas option is included because the approved canvas size would fall below the standard.
