Description

First Footprint on the Moon preserves one of the defining visual symbols of Apollo 11: the sharply impressed tread of an astronaut’s boot in the fine lunar soil.

Buzz Aldrin photographed this print on July 20, 1969 as part of a study of lunar soil mechanics. The crisp pattern and surrounding granular surface have since become an enduring image of exploration beyond Earth.

Produced from NASA Johnson Space Center’s 4,400 × 4,600 high-resolution scan of AS11-40-5878, every offered paper and framed-and-matted size remains above 300 PPI. No canvas size is included because the approved canvas range would fall below the quality standard.
