Description
Westerlund 1 is one of the most massive young star clusters in the Milky Way, containing an extraordinary population of luminous and evolved stars.
Webb’s infrared vision looks through intervening dust to resolve the cluster’s dense stellar field and surrounding reddish gas. The observation helps astronomers study how very massive stars form, evolve, and influence their environment.
Produced from ESA/Webb’s official 11,179 × 7,299 master, every offered paper, framed-and-matted, and stretched-canvas size remains above 300 PPI with a minimal 3:2 crop.
