A Moment with the Moon presents a sweeping lunar portrait photographed by the Artemis II crew shortly before their observation period began on April 6, 2026. Orientale basin dominates the center of the view, marking the transition between the Moon’s near and far sides.
The 600-mile-wide impact basin is encircled by rings of rugged terrain, with a dark patch of ancient volcanic material visible near its center. To the left, the bright crater Byrgius and its extensive ray system provide a crisp counterpoint across the weathered surface.
Produced from NASA’s official 5,568 × 3,712 original, the paper and framed presentations preserve the native 3:2 composition. The 16 × 12-inch stretched canvas uses a restrained centered crop, and every available option remains above Space Art Studio’s 300-PPI quality standard.
