Description

Solar Eclipse Emergence from Orion captures sunlight beginning to return from behind the Moon near the end of the Artemis II lunar flyby. After nearly an hour of darkness, a brilliant sliver appears along the lunar edge as the eclipse moves out of totality.

The frame’s deep black space, curved lunar silhouette, and concentrated burst of light give the photograph a spare, cinematic character. The reemerging Sun also reveals irregular terrain along the lunar limb that is difficult to see under ordinary illumination.

Produced from NASA’s official 5,568 × 3,712 original, the paper and framed presentations preserve the native 3:2 composition. The 16 × 12-inch stretched canvas uses a restrained centered crop, and every available option remains above Space Art Studio’s 300-PPI quality standard.
