Description
Pluto and Charon appear together in this New Horizons portrait from the spacecraft’s historic 2015 encounter. Pluto’s varied terrain contrasts with the darker, more rugged face of its largest moon.
The pair forms an unusual double-world system: both bodies orbit a point in space between them. New Horizons transformed these distant disks into complex landscapes with distinct geology and color.
Produced from NASA’s official 3,000 × 3,000 file, the artwork is limited to square paper and framed-and-matted sizes no larger than 10 inches, maintaining a minimum of 300 PPI.
