Description

Galaxy Cluster MACS0416 appears in a panchromatic composite combining visible-light observations from Hubble with infrared data from Webb. The resulting field spans wavelengths from 0.4 to 5 microns and reveals galaxies in an extraordinary range of colors and distances.

The cluster lies about 4.3 billion light-years away. Its gravity bends and magnifies light from more distant objects, producing arcs and repeated images that allow astronomers to study galaxies, supernovae, and individual stars far behind it.

Produced from ESA/Webb’s official 4,457 × 4,133 master, the selected square paper and framed-and-matted sizes remain above 300 PPI. No canvas option is included because the approved canvas sizes would fall below the standard.
